Enterprise Etowah, incorporating the offices of The Etowah Chamber of Commerce and Etowah Main Street is seeking to fill the position of Executive Director.
Position Overview
The Etowah Chamber of Commerce and Main Street Director is responsible for leading and managing the combined efforts of the Chamber of Commerce and Main Street programs in Etowah, Tennessee. This dynamic role requires a passionate, energetic and skilled individual to drive economic development, promote local businesses, and enhance the downtown area's vitality.
Key Responsibilities
1. Program Management
- Oversee and implement Chamber of Commerce initiatives and Main Street programs
- Develop and execute strategic plans to achieve organizational goals
- Manage budgets and financial resources effectively
- Raise funds, write and administer grants
- Attend regular Main Street and TN ECD trainings and conferences
2. Business Development and Support
- Cultivate relationships with local businesses and potential investors
- Provide resources and support to help businesses thrive and expand
- Attract new businesses to the Etowah area
3. Community Engagement
- Organize and promote community events, festivals and activities
- Foster partnerships with local government, organizations, and stakeholders
- Serve as a spokesperson for the Chamber and Main Street programs
4. Downtown Revitalization
- Lead efforts to improve and maintain the downtown area's aesthetics and functionality
- Implement strategies to increase foot traffic and commercial activity
- Preserve and promote Etowah's historic character and cultural assets
- Launch strategic initiatives to enhance economic viability in the commercial heritage district
5. Membership Growth and Retention
- Develop and implement strategies to increase Chamber membership and Main Street Partnership
- Ensure high levels of member satisfaction and engagement
- Create and manage member benefit programs
6. Marketing and Communication
- Develop and execute marketing strategies to promote Etowah and its businesses
- Manage social media accounts, website content, and other communication channels
- Produce regular newsletters and reports for members and stakeholders
Qualifications
- Degree in Business, Marketing, Communication or related field, preferred but not required
- Experience in chamber of commerce, economic development, or related roles preferred
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
- Proficiency in budget management and financial planning
- Experience with event planning and coordination
- Knowledge of social media marketing and digital communication strategies
- Familiarity with grant writing and fundraising techniques (preferred)
